Professional accomplishments - Jay received intensive trauma training as a student during his time at Rady Children’s Hospital. He completed his clinical traineeship at the Rady Children’s, where he was trained at the outpatient psychiatry unit. Jay has worked at all levels of care RTC, PHP, IOP and was an executive director for a national mental health institution. Jay provides DBT workshops for mental health professionals across the United States Military Installations. His areas of expertise include personality disorders, suicidality and self-injury, shame and self-hatred, eating disorders, sexual / military sexual assault and dialectical behavior therapy. Due to Jay’s experience in both military trauma and sexual assault, he collaborated in the 90 day Independent Review Commission on Sexual Assault in the Military (USMC) under the guidance of the Secretary of Defense. Jay is a decorated Retired Marine, with extensive experience in dealing with clients with combat trauma.
